Single Family Residence, Passive Solar Dwelling

A passive solar dwelling with a wind-sheltered entrance courtyard. Energy-saving devices used in the design of the residence were: a Trombe Wall (south facing heat collector), Greenhouse, functional zoning, and calculation of sun angles for solar-gain orientation and summertime shading. The non-living spaces are aligned along the cold (north) side of the building.
